Fisher Price has come up with a real winner in the Power Wheels Lightning McQueen Car. This extremely durable motorized car is recommended mainly for ages 3 to 7 years, and a weight of up to 65 pounds. With the wide age range, your kids will enjoy this high-quality car for many years.
The sharp looking Lightning McQueen car comes in that famous bright red color from the blockbuster movie. There are two sound effect buttons on the steering wheel that make cool race car sounds and play real movie phrases from the voice of Lightning McQueen. The car moves in both forward and reverse, helping kids maneuver their way through tight spots. Though this is only a single seat car, the seat is large enough to fit some adults. Fisher Price's Power Lock break system stops the car automatically for added safety.
Surfaces such as concrete, grass, and even bumpy or rocky surfaces are no challenge for Lightning McQueen. He can handle most terrains with ease and hold up to even the toughest abuse.
A really nice benefit of this car is the one-year "bumper-to-bumper" warranty. This covers everything except the battery. Some adult assembly is required but it does not appear to be anything difficult. If you're really not into the whole build-it-yourself concept, many stores are happy to put it together for a small fee.
There are actually two models of this car from Fisher Price. One model runs on a 6-volt battery and moves at a speed of 3.5 mph. The other model uses a 12-volt battery and can run at either 2.5 or 5.0 mph. If you have the choice, go for the versatile dual-speed with a stronger battery for extended fun and excitement. There is a high-speed lock out mode on this model for beginning drivers that locks the car speed at 2.5 mph for greater safety. Once they have learned to control their vehicle or have grown up a bit, mom and dad can unlock the speed so kids can zoom at a "Lightning" speed of 5 mph.
The battery and charger are included with your purchase. Though Lightning runs for hours without recharging the battery, you may want to purchase an extra one for those really long days outside.
You will be hard pressed to find any downsides to this spectacular car. Fisher Price and Lightning McQueen have won the race!
