Little Tikes Junior Quad is a terrific motorized ride-on toy for kids. With its flashing headlights and musical sound effects, the kids absolutely love this cool ride. They will look and feel sporty as they drive just like mom and dad.
At a maximum speed of 1.2 mph, it's perfect for toddlers 18-24 months. Though recommended for up to age 3, it is really more fitting in size and speed for kids age 2 and under. Even some two year old tots are ready for a bit faster speed. The weight limit is very reasonable at 44 lbs.
This ride-on ATV is put in motion by using a foot control. Some reviewers think the foot pedal is difficult for this young age group, but most tend to agree that the tots catch on quickly and that it actually helps with coordination. A nice safety feature is the auto brake system. When the foot lets off the accelerator pedal, the Quad stops. A feature that is unique to the Junior Quad is the reverse feature. The Little Tikes Junior Quad does have some competition out there, the main one being the popular Fisher Price Lil' Quad ride-on. The Fisher Price model is, according to some,of higher quality and goes a bit faster with a maximum speed of 2 mph. The Lil' Quad comes with comfortable built-in footrests and a neat cargo rack on the back to haul around the toddler's favorite things they just can't leave home without. It uses a button control rather than the foot pedal and does not have a reverse option. The price range is very comparable for these two models. Little Tikes comes in red and pink colors while the Fisher Price model is available in blue, as well as the stylish Barbie, Dora, Diego, and Batman models.
